Mollie Goldstrom presents a series of detailed drawings inspired by seaweed and the stories, histories and people connected to it. The Swimmer takes its title from John Cheever’s short story and brings together references from literature, botanical history and the artist’s own littoral explorations. Rich in observation and detail, the works reflect Goldstrom’s fascination with the ecological and cultural significance of seaweed, encouraging viewers to look more closely at this often-overlooked part of our coastal environment.
